Last night we enjoyed a delicious dinner of fish, potatoes, vegetables, humus and fruit cobbler for dessert
The St. Peter's fish were delicious, but I don't like it when my food is looking at me, I took the head off first!
Thursday morning we woke to another beautiful day. Since we walked two days worth of travel on Tuesday, we had a day of welcome rest today at the prayer and retreat center. The patios and gardens make relaxing easy.
The main building where we eat our meals
The dining area
The lounge area on the lower dining area where we can access the Internet
The building our room is in. Some people are here for months volunteering and work hard keeping up the beautiful landscape.
The building where we are staying on the inside looking east toward the patio
The brown door is our room
Looking out to the patio on the east side. Yes, that is the Sea of Galilee! It's a breathtaking view
The gardens below the patio level say it all, HE IS RISEN!!!!
The day began with breakfast with fellow guests as well as volunteer staff. After breakfast we participated in a moving time of worship, testimony and prayer with the group here. We enjoyed a very relaxing day of reading, napping, I did some laundry and we ate some bread, fruit and leftover fish from last night for supper. Today was a day of sabbath for us. Sometimes it's hard to slow down enough to rest and relax, but we did it today. After three days of strenuous hiking, rest was needed and we are grateful to God for bringing us so far. What a blessing this journey has been! As we look east we see the Sea of Galilee, to the north and east we see the Mount of Beatitudes where the sermon on the mount took place, near there where the feeding of the 5000 took place. Looking around from this spot, so much history took place. Much more than history, it's where our LORD and Savior, Jesus Christ lived, walked and ministered. In this land He suffered and was crucified, but as the sign says "HE IS RISEN!" Hallelujah!Tomorrow we make our way by taxi back to Nazareth, pick up our luggage, and find the bus that takes us back to Tel Aviv where we spend two nights and fly to Athens on Sunday morning. Please pray that our journey goes smoothly and easily.
As I close, I'm off to join Russ on the patio for our last evening on the Sea of Galilee. Watching the lights and stars twinkle and feeling the fresh breeze is a blessing from God. Breathe in His goodness and enjoy your day of blessings!
Until next time,
Russ & Carol
