Since our last email, we cruised to Venice and were in port there for 3 days. What a beautiful city! It was incredible to come into the city in the huge cruise ship looking down on the canals, St. Mark's square and the fabulous buildings as opera music played on the speakers. Quite breathtaking, really!
After leaving Venice, we had a day at sea and today we're in Naples, Italy. We came to the deck this morning and it was pouring rain, in fact, a VERY strong thunderstorm! Some cracks of thunder came immediately following the lightning, it was really nice to hear and watch without getting wet. Since we took an excursion our first time in Naples to Sorrento and Pompeii, we just planned to stay on the ship today and venture out just near the port to use the internet. With the weather this morning, we were very thankful we hadn't booked a tour today. This afternoon the rain has stopped, and the sun is beginning to shine. We can see Mt. Vesuvius from the ship...amazing!
We continue to be blessed by this time of relaxation and refreshment. God continues to bless us as we experience the wonderful things we see, people we meet and the time spent with Him.
I'm keeping the post short so HOPEFULLY it will work! I bought some gelato at a restaurant so I could log on the Internet and I'm trying to work FAST!
